Post-baby pooch: That abdominal bulge after baby isn't just caused by extra fat. Loose skin and loose muscles are also part of the problem. You can't correct either of those last two things with any kind of exercise. A tummy tuck may be what you need to get back a flat belly.

Diastasis recti: When the layer of tissue between the muscles called the fascia has stretched out it often does not tighten up after multiple pregnancies. As a result even if your abs get strong again there remains a bulge in the middle that won't resolve without surgical repair. If your belly bulges when you raise your legs off the table while laying flat on your back the you have diastasis recti.
