Varies: Kegel exercises are great but this may not be enough. There are surgeries, medications and physical therapy available. Your obgyn, urologist or a urogynecologist can help find the right treatment plan for you.

6 weeks: If the kegels are done correctly, typically improvement starts in 4-6 weeks, and by 12 weeks, most improvement will have been achieved. The problem is that many women cannot do a pelvic muscle contraction or 'kegel' exercise the right way, because the muscles are damaged or too weak. Have your kegel checked by your gyne or a pt.
