Ingrown Toenail: Pus is usually a sign of infection. This perhaps may be treated with some antibiotics or may require further treatment.

There is a reason: You most likely have an infection under the toenail. If it continues to puss and cause more swelling, then go to your pcp. Otherwise, keep it clean, use a topical triple antibiotic, keep it covered, and wear clean socks.
