Yes: The hpv virus is very easily transmitted from person to person. Fingers, mouths, sharing sex toys without washing in between are all thought to be ways of transmitting hpv.

Very rare...: Almost all genital or oral HPV in adults is acquired by sexual contact with infected partners. Some HPV types, such as the ones that cause hand and foot warts, are nonsexually transmitted. But a genital, anal, or oral HPV infection in an adult is almost always from sex with an infected partner. However, HPV can show up years after catching it, so often found in people with no recent STD risk.
