Emg: Constant firing on EMG can mean several things. All depends on the pattern - whether at rest with no muscle contraction/activation (spontaneous activity; usually means active nerve injury or muscle inflammation) or with activity, which is normal. If at rest also, it depends on the type of firing...Frequency, regularity. These all mean specific things to a physician performing emg.
