A member asked:

Is there a procedure which can assess the extent of damage done to the lungs by smoking, with a history of smoking for 2 years?

Yes: Two years of smoking will do very little measurable damage to the lung in most individuals, but lung function tests can detect tobacco induced damage if it is present. More importantly if you quit now, you can avoid a lifelong accumulation df damage that can lead to lung cancer and or emphysema.
