Viral illness: Symptom or comfort care and monitoring would be my suggestion if she is otherwise not too distraught or bothered by the cough at night and diarrhea is not overwhelmingly bloody, mucousy or associated with poor intake/weight loss. Consider rest, fluids and steamy baths to soak in. Follow up with your doc if worsens/persists.
