See below: That is a common side effect - it's called post-herpetic neuralgia. See your doctor right away because the longer it goes untreated, the harder it is to treat and the more likely it will remain for a long time after the rash is gone. A couple of medications used for this (among others) are Carbamazepine and gabapentin.
