Costochondritis?: Inflammation of the cartilege and bone between the ribs and sternum is fairly common. It is tender with palpation, movement or pressing down in the area. It can be caused by over use or heavy lifting. Ibuprofen, rest and alternating ice and heat may help. If not better in a few days or worsening see your doctor.
