No: The steroid used is specific to stabilizing membranes & improving lung production of surfactant. It mimics what happens naturally when if mom develops high blood pressure & natural stress steroids speed lung maturity.It is only given at specific gestation's where research shows it will help. No long term negatives are seen for baby.
