Brushing is key`: Removing plaque, the bacteria on teeth is the key to stop bleeding gums. The mechanical action of the toothbrush bristles removes the plaque. Toothpaste is just an aid to the brushing. It adds some abrasive power to remove the plaque and contains Fluoride to strengthen the teeth.

May need more...: Periodontal disease (infection of the gum tissue and bones surrounding teeth) is an increasing health risk which will not go away by itself, but requires professional treatment. Bleeding gums are not normal! in the early stage of gum disease, called gingivitis, the gums become red, swell, and bleed easily. If the disease is left untreated, it can eventually lead to loss of teeth.

Toothpaste will not.: Toothpaste alone will not cure you of bleeding gums. Bleeding gums can be a sign of a more serious disease but generally it is a sign of periodontal disease. In its earliest form (called gingivitis) it is reversible with a professional cleaning and maintaining good oral hygiene. When it progresses to periodontitis it can be managed but not reversed completely. I would recommend a dental exam asap.

No : You need a professional cleaning, advice and proper home care. May need a periodontist (gum specialist.) don't hesitate, can get worse to point where you could lose teeth.
