No: 5% of all cancers are oral cancer. Although smoking is a main factor, just as in lung cancer, you don't have to smoke to develop oral cancer. You should get a head and neck cancer screening from your dentist at least once a year.

Mostly: Most but not all oral cancers are caused by excessive smoking and drinking. Other causes are uncommon. See an oral surgeon or ENT doc with any unhealing ulcer or sore in the mouth.
