Piercing pain: Each person has a different tolerance level for pain. The pain caused by a piercing depends on body location. Ear lobe piercings are usually tolerable. Piercings through cartilage hurt more. The tongue can be quite painful. Nipple & genital piercings have been described as very painful. The pain from doing the piercing is brief.
