LIkely need LevoTX.: Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid gland in the form of antibodies, specifically thyroid anti-microsomal antibody. It can be present with other autoimmune disorders like sle, etc.. It almost always results in hypothyroidism and lifelong repalcement with levothyroxine (synthroid). This helps keep your weight at a normal level and to lead an active life.
