I don't get to do it! do the student doctors cut the umbilical cord a certain way?

Cutting the cord: No there is no special technique to cutting the cord, though as you may be able to imagine it would require some gymnastics for a mother to cut her babies cord. Fathers are occasionally allowed to cut the cord though.
