A member asked:

Does anyone have any idea how h. pylori causes cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Helicobacter is a promoter for carcinoma, making the stomach lining cells multiply much more rapidly and let genetic mutations overgrow. It also brings in the immune cells that keep stomach lymphomas growing; for lymphomas (not carcinomas), elimination the helicobacter can (strangely) eliminate many lymphomas. Other factors too.
