Probably Not: Sprains usually come from some type of injury. Typing can cause overuse injuries such as tendinitis. Try rest, ice and over the counter anti inflammatory medications such as advil or aleve (naproxen). If you symptoms do not improve i would recommend you see a hand surgeon.
