Weight Loss: Exercise by itself is generally not very effective for weight loss. First because you have to exercise a lot to burn a significant number of calories, second because after heavy exercise people often overeat. Exercise is very, very helpful in maintaining weight or avoiding weight gain but usually diet changes are needed to lose weight. With your history, you may want to see a dietician.

Add therapy to mix: Eating disorder can be a difficult condition to overcome. It can show up by poor intake, bulimia and sometimes just the opposite by over eating and not being able to lose weight. IT is important that psychotherapy be part of the treatment approach.
