A member asked:

If one knuckle in my hand is hurting from arthritis, could it make the others hurt also?

No: One painful joint will not cause a cascade of other painful joints. Keep in mind, though, that compensating for pain at one site may cause stress on other parts of your anatomy, and indirectly cause them to hurt. If one is suffering from a systemic illness that causes joint pain, like rheumatoid arthritis, multiple joints can hurt simultaneously.

OA: No. But if you have arthritis in one finger joint you might have it another joint.
