Tendonitis: Tendonitis of the elbow is more common than arthritis and responds to rest and antiinflammatories like ibuprofen. Occasionally a corticosteroid injection is needed for relief. Tendonitis doesn't show up on a simple x-Ray but arthritis does. An orthopedic surgeon is best qualified to evaluate and advise you,however.
