Bursitis: Bursitis around the knee can occur in several locations. On the outside of the knee the itb can rub against the lateral epicondyle and cause a form of runner's knee in runners that run a lot of hills. On the inside of the knee one can have pes bursitis. For these two sites ice massage, stretching a NSAID cream such as voltaren gel or a Flector Patch (diclofenac) can be helpful.
