My partner and i are thinking of getting pregnant. however i was diagnosed with hsv 1 genital last june and i haven't had any outbreaks since. i've read i can't deliver vaginally and that i have a higher chance and risk of miscarriage and premature labor

Don't worry too much: Hsv is a common virus, so many before you have delivered healthy babies under similar circumstances. General rule is c/section if there is an active herpes outbreak at the time of labor/delivery; otherwise, vaginal delivery is fine. Many use Valtrex (valacyclovir) in the last month to prevent an outbreak.
