How common are antibiotic resistant strains of h. pylori? i was treated with biaxin (clarithromycin) tid and a ppi? what are the odds of resistance?

Not enough studies: there are not adequate studies to answer your question. the prevalence of h pylori is quite high in many communities and the studies to date dont offer a clear answer to your question. many doctors will do a stool test to verify that the treatment regimen worked to eradicate h pylori, some will treat and base that test on your symptoms

H pylori resistance: Resistance to Biaxin (clarithromycin) is around 20%. So your odds of failure is roughly one in 5.
