A member asked:

How does one detect shoulder joint instability?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Exam and history: See a sports/shoulder specialist for evaluation. They will examine you after reviewing a history of shoulder problems. X-rays will probably be done. Possibly an MRI or mr arthrogram will be ordered. The most important element is truly the history of problems, combined with the physical exam findings.
