MORE INFORMATION?: I am wondering if you have seen a physician and been diagnosed and tried prescription antidepressants that are approved, studied, and regulated? For a "heavy" depression then i would not suggest using over the counter medications. There are plenty of proven approaches along with therapy.

Plenty: A "heavy" depression for months warrants a professional evaluation. Prescription medicine, psychotherapy, lifestyle advice (eg, nutrition and exercise), and possibly medical tests can all help. Many people pull themselves out of mild depression, but serious and/or prolonged depression requires more.
