9-12 months: Optimal recovery from an acl reconstruction can be as little as 6 months. However, typical recovery and full return to sports is in the 9-12 month range. Post-operative rehab is extremely important.

4-6 months typical: Gentle jogging and treadmill and then transition to full running around 4-6 months with increased side to side activity. Full recovery for sports 6-8 months.
