Delay of ovulation: With vaginal delivery or cesarean, a women, especially one who is breastfeeding, may have cessation of menses for 1 month, 12 or more. It varies with every women's physiology, and her breast feeding status. Cesarean does not affect the onset of ovulation in a way different from vaginal delivery. Remember, you'll release an egg before you menstruate after having a child, so contraception is key!
