Usually not: Glucophage, by reducing Insulin resistance often promotes weight loss, but first the hypothyroidism must be corrected with synthroid (thyroxine) treatment.

Not so much: Best to treat the hypothyroidism. Glucophage (metformin) uncouples your mitochondria and is not always a good thing.
