Probably not teethin: 3-m-o infant may start slobbering but actual teething is unusual. Teething usually comes between 5 and 6 months.

Cold : Cold will ease his pain. Roll up clean wet small washcloths and place in the freezer for a few hours. Offer him the washcloth to gnaw on. This will soothe irritated gums and will clean them at the same time. Do not use orajel or any products containing Benzocaine for teething as some babies/toddlers can suffer life threatening side effects.
