My two year old son has been teething for the last few days. we have been giving him painkillers as he is in pain. the teething process for him can take as long as two weeks. what is the maximum days i can give him the pain killers?

Check temperature: Check temperature prior to the use of Tylenol or Motrin. If there is a fever, please follow up with your pediatrician. Teething pain may also be controlled by use of a chilled teething ring and local application of a numbing agent available over the counter. I would suggest not using pain medications by prescription for teething.

Analgesics: It's a very hard time for both the child and his parents. By age 2 your son should have a year long established relationship with your General Dentist or preferably a Pedodontist (Children's dental specialist) who will have many suggestions (cold teething ring, topical anesthetics, etc) to help him through this process.
