Dysmenorrhea: Many people have flulike symptoms with a period. You should be evaluated for pelvic pain with an exam and ultrasound and if all is well can be offered medication to reduce the symptoms such as anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen and if not contraindicated , the birth control pill.
