Surgery: A sebaceous cyst will generally enlarge over time and may become infected which usually prompts emergency treatment. It is better to see a surgeon before it grows very large and have it removed.

See the doctor: If there is a large pore and you can express the contents then you can put off the inevitable but generally these do not go away without being removed in the doctor's office. If the pore is small or non-existent the cyst will continue to enlarge and may eventually become infected.
