What is the reason of getting germs infection in blood?

Many: Any IV access as in hospital "iv's" , urinary tract infections, appendicitis or other abdominal infections & commonly: pneumonia .It is always dangerous and requires careful management! in old or immuno-comprimised people it is often fatal.
