Depends: Ask your doctor(s). Gallstones are not listed as a side effect of Methotrexate by the us fda, but there are reports of gallstones in people taking Methotrexate so it's theoretically possible that it could worsen your problem. A low dose may be reasonable. There are also other treatments for psoriatic arthritis. Your doctor(s) can give you the best individualized advice about this complex question.

Yes, but...: ...Why are you enduring the pain and risk of frequent gallbladder attacks? In the modern era of minimally invasive surgery, the risks are often greater to continue to have gallbladder attacks rather than the risk of surgery. Have you spoken with your primary care physician or rheumatologist about these attacks?

Yes you can use MTX!: Methotrexate (mtx), is best given by subcutaneous injection, thereby bypassing the liver, which is not if taken orally. Virtually no liver issues occur if the oral dose is switched to the s.C. Route, in tradional doses of 10-25mg per week.
