A member asked:

Is it safe to use methotrexate to treat psoriatic arthritis when you also have gallbladder stones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: Because mtx suppresses the immune system, you would not give it to someone who has an infected gall bladder. Asymptomatic stones without infection or duct obstruction, where surgery is not recommended would be ok. Mtx can cause liver injury (chemocal hepatitis) but it doesn't affect the gall bladder.
