Steroids: Polymyositis, is usually treated with steroids. Additional medications may be added , like methotrexate, intravenous immunoglobulins, or cytoxan. Other medications that have been used include biological therapies, rituxan, (rituximab) and tnf inhibitors. In addition physical therapy can be helpful in maintaining strength.

None: Naturopaths having nothing to offer the polymyositic patient. They will administer ineffective potions while the disease eats away at muscles. Polymyositis requires strong, clinical proven medication and you should not be seeing a non-medical person for this serious disease.
