A member asked:

Had surgery on t11 t12 and since 1st surgery had to be stopped due to loss of movement now have myelomalacia what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See another surgeon: If you had difficulties from your surgery, you should get a second opinion about treatment options. Clearly your legs are weak and myelomalacia (atrophy of the spinal cord) is a difficult problem to treat. You should seek another opinion about your condition by a board certified neurosurgeon in your area. If there's not one close, i'd suggest mark pichelmann, md at mayo clinic, jacksonville, fl.
