Smoking hx?: Smoking can cause changes like this. See your docotr as with or with out smoking, some of the harmless depigmentation /hyperpigmentation need to be differentiated from precancerous conditions/early cancerous condition called leukoplakia . Early vitiligo, a condition with depigmentation from brown colour to pink as in your case is possible. See your docotr and get evalauted.

Not many options: Unfortunately there aren't many options to change the pigment in this area. Lasers or agents such as hydroquinone would not be effective or frankly safe to use in this area. If the area is small in size, surgical excision would be a potential option but may not remove the area entirely either. Consult with a facial plastic surgeon for potential options.
