Wouldn't: There is no specific treatment for a bicuspid aortic valve. Over many years one might develop aortic stenosis. This results in the inability of the two valves (as opposed to the normal 3 valves) to open wide enough. The symptoms of aortic stenosis are shortness of breath on exertion, chest pain and fainting. Such symptoms suggest the need for valve replacement. Periodic echo tests are used
