2nd opinion: ? Bilateral incisional hernia ? Incisional hernias occur along the length of the incision. It can be multiple i.e. Swiss cheese deformity but bilaterality? Are you referring to recurrent bilateral inguinal hernias? Anyhow, 2 nd opinion hernia consultation needs to be done in person. See a different surgeon before you make a final decision.

Not entirely: Sounds like there is some confusion. If you mean bilateral inguinal hernias that are small and minimally symptomatic, you should decide based on the goals of prevention and symptom relief. Incisional hernias are not described as bilateral. The cecum is a part of the large intestine, and if that is protruding through a hernia defect, it should generally be fixed. Hope this helps.
