Is a hyperactive thyroid related to abnormal liver function?

Liver function: Yes -- in some cases. More importantly, if you are on anti thyroid meds be careful that you're not having liver toxicity.

Yes: Hyperthyroidism can cause elevated liver enzymes. Drugs used to treat hyperthyroidism can also cause liver enzyme elevation. Discuss with your doctor what is causing what. Sometimes the simplest thing you can do is to treat the hyperthyroidism (curative) and see what happens to the liver enzymes. In all cases, you must follow the enzymes for trends.
