A member asked:

What are the odds that a 88 year old man will survive a stomach operation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: I am not sure the reason for having stomach operation but here is a simple rule of thumb - the smaller size of stomach the higher risk of malnutrition and greater medical complications from the stomach. Also the more medical conditions the person get, the greater risk of complications from surgery.
