Gout: Always talk with your physician about your care. Eat liberal amounts of cherries, celery & blueberries. Eat minimum amt of high purine foods: herring, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, baker’s yeast, brewer’s yeast, organ meats & roe.

Careful: If you mean scientific treatment plus holistic concepts fine. But By definition, "alternative" is different than modern western medicine. Generally any drug, herb, treatment, or procedure that stands up to rigorous scientific scrutiny is included in modern medicine. The problem is that many alternative practices, herbs etc do not stand up to scientific scrutiny and cannot be shown 2 work. Beware
