Lots of variables...: I would suggest several consultations with surgeons certified by the american board of plastic surgeons. Get all your questions answered and don't be in a rush; there is no such thing as emergency cosmetic surgery. Good luck!

Priorities: A woman's priorities are the main determinants of what a woman will want in the varied breast augmentation process. The type of implant, implant position, the incision and size are issues to consider and discuss with your surgeon beforehand.

Breast Augmentation: Breast augmentation is commonly done with implants (saline or gel). Depending on the desired outcome, may influence the type of implant you choose. The shape of your chest and size of your breasts in relationship to your torso also are important factors. Your surgeon should measure your chest and allow you to try on implants to help you visualize the anticipated size you would be after surgery.

Discussion of risks: This is not always an easy decision and typical requires the patient to evaluate her own priorities and expectations and risk tolerance along with a thorough discussion of the risks, alternatives, and benefits following a history and physical examination by a board certified plastic surgeon to review the options of silicone or saline techniques by versus fat grafting or external tissue expansion.

Careful Consult.: The first step would be a consultation with a well experienced board-certified plastic surgeon. During this process, patients will be able to communicate their goals, and together with their plastic surgeon determine the best breast implant size, type, profile, approach… likely to achieve their goals. I find the use of gold pictures very helpful during this communication process.
