If you don't, the whole experience can be the same as building a house on a poor and weak foundation. It won't last very long. Please seek the services of an experienced dentist.

Certainly: Cosmetic dentistry is all about the patient's perception. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Do not let any dentist talk you into something you do not want. Remember, a great smile needs to be functional as well as esthetic. Always ask for options and what each procedure entails so that a properly informed patient can make an informed decision about what they want done.

You can do both at the same time: No reason not to do it all at the same time. If time is important to you, why make extra trips to the dental office. Most dentists are efficient so that multiple procedures can be completed at the same time.

Yes: If your gum disease is treated successfully and you are able to maintain good oral hygiene then cosmetic dentistry can certainly be accomplished. Sometimes cosmetic dentistry can even make it easier to keep certain areas clean. For example if you have gum recession and erosion on the root surfaces, sometimes porcelain veneers can help these areas by covering the notch up.

It's technical..: This is a term usually referenced between dentists and dental laboratories. Patients are not often included in these discussions because the term is technical in nature and does not apply to a patient's control. However, to be specific, an undercut is an area that allows something to lock in. Under a denture an undercut in the denture base would lead to sore or traumatized gum tissue. A partial denture clasp arm requires an undercut on a tooth in order to prevent rising up of the partial denture.

More snuggly: Partial dentures can have a precision fit. For the most part the fit should be snug. Over time relines may be needed to maintain this snuggness.

Yes: However, i imagine there will be gray scratches on the porcelain as a result. By placing dental implants under the partial denture the clasps can be removed yet the fit can still be very good. This would eliminate the gray scratches on the porcelain.

It depends...: I would always try to go with an option that is more fixed in nature. However, there are times when a fixed option may be more difficult to obtain due to these options being more expensive. Sometimes what is best is the option that the patient is willing to invest in. Fixed options can be later considered and even planned ahead of time when removable options are pursued.

Braces: Cosmetic dentistry means surgery, cutting and reshaping teeth to make them look straighter. A more conservative approach might be to have your teeth aligned rather than reshaped. The result is more long-lasting and does not require a lifetime of costly maintenance. See and orthodontic specialist for an opinion.
