Meds, herbs and food: Anti-infammatory meds (nsaids) always taken with food to protect your stomach. Better yet get to reason for sciatica - trauma, posture, misalignment of body. Osteopathic physician who does manipulation or chiropractor may help. Physical therapy to strengthen you in better alignment. Anti-infl herbs include turmeric, ginger, rosemary & more. Some: Tylenol (acetaminophen) 1000 mg every six hours or advil 800 mg every 8 hours is a reasonable start if you have no liver, stomach, or kidney issues. Specific nerve pain medications will likely work better but are prescription only.

NSAIDs & Tylenol (acetaminophen): Ibuprofen, Aleve are non-steroidal anti inflammatory that can be used to reduce pain and inflammation. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Acetaminophen is a anti-pyretic medication used to reduce pain and fever, however tylenol (acetaminophen) does not reduce inflammation.
