Unlikely: I agree that carpal tunnel and TMJ are probably unrelated. If there is some underlying neurological disease, such as a fairly rare ailment, called neurological amyloidosis, there may be some type of link. I believe that also some nutritional or orthopedic components affecting the immune system should not be ruled out.

Could be: Tmj can have many associated musculoskeletal signs and symptoms. Posture is affected. Tingling fingers could be related to tmd. Correct diagnosis is critical.

No: There is no research nor clinical evidence that demonstrates a relationship between symptoms of tmd and carpal-tunnel syndrome.

Two separate issues: Does not appear to be related. Did an orthopedic surgeon verify the carpal tunnel or is it considered arthritis related? TMJ is a joint and can suffer effects of arthritis. Get both checked out by the proper professionals.

2 separate problems: 2 separate problems and they need to be addressed separately. You should consult your primary care physician regarding a referral to a specialist.
