A member asked:

Are there tests or just symptoms for carpal tunnel syndrome?

Both: Carpal tunnel syndrome (cts) involves numbness/tingling in the thumb, index, long and the radial-side of the ring finger. The symptom are worse at night, especially pain. The diagnosis is made clinically with history and physical exam, which reproduces the symptoms during provocative maneuvers. A nerve test, called an EMG can be used to confirm the diagnosis.
