Depends: On how badly cracked. It may be possible to save the tooth with root canal therapy and a crown or just a crown. If it is cracked to the point of verticle fracture then it is not possible to save the tooth.

Several things...: We often refer to "cracked tooth syndrome" when a patient complains about biting pressure on a tooth. This is because there are multiple possible problems and outcomes which make it hard to diagnose. Depending on how deep the crack is, the treatment (in order of severity) could be: crown, crown+root canal, or even extraction if the crack goes down the root and the symptoms can not be alleviated.

Treatment for CTS: Treatments for cracked tooth syndrome is not always successful. The tooth may be restored with a crown. About 28% of teeth with cracked tooth syndrome require root canals and crown. In more complicated cases the tooth may be extracted. Hope it helps.

Varies: The treatment depends on the extent of the fracture. It could be as simple as a large filling or as complex as root canal therapy and a crown. Not all fractures are the same, so treatment will be tailored to your specific situation.
