Avulsion vs. Jone's: Avulsion fracture of the any metatarsal will take about 4-6 weeks to heal. However, if the base of the 5th metatarsal is broken this might be jone's fracture. In that case without surgical intervention, 6-8 weeks since there is not enough blood supply to this part of the bone.
